SCHOLARSHIPS

The Alpha Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. would like to give you the opportunity to apply for our $3,000 scholarship which will be used towards your educational career at a college or university of your choice. ​This scholarship is given annually to a graduating high school student attending a Baltimore City public or private school.

 

The applicant must meet the following criteria:​

  1. Be accepted and committed to a two (2) year or four (4) year institution.

  2. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of “B” (3.0).

  3. 2025-2026 SAT and ACT scores (if available)

  4. Send a copy of the latest transcript and/or progress report.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their:

  1. Most recent official high school transcript (Official transcript MUST be sent directly to sgrhobaltimorecity.scholars@gmail.com with the student's name in the subject field)

  2. Level of academic achievement

  3. Scholastic awards

  4. Community service

  5. Essay justifying why they should be considered for this scholarship.

  6. Two (2) letters of recommendation

  • One letter of recommendation should be from a teacher, counselor or school administrator

  • One letter of recommendation should be from employer or community leader (minister, organization leader, supervisor, etc.)

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Spring 2026

If you are selected to receive this scholarship, we will make payment to the college or university where you have been accepted as an incoming freshman. We will need the name of a contact person, email, and phone number. We must receive from you, proof of enrollment for Fall 2026.

​

Proof of enrollment consists of the following:

  • Student ID

  • Enrolled courses for Fall 2026

  • Statement of Tuition and Fees for Fall 2026 (Student Accounts Summary)
